Should Gambling’s Dark Side Be Forgot?
By Kathy Gilroy
(To tune of “Auld Lang Syne”)

Refrain:

Should gambling’s dark side be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should gambling’s dark side be forgot, replaced by “I want mine”?

Verses:

1. For “jobs and fun” is what will sell and no talk of crime.
“We’ll take whatever cash we can. Don’t let us hear you whine.” (refrain)

2. “For only a few are hurt, my friend. They’re no concern of mine.
We’ll take your stolen money, too. Don’t let us hear you whine.” (refrain)

3. For gambling’s fruit is bankruptcy, divorce and suicide,
Embezzlement and child abuse. “Don’t let us hear you whine.” (refrain)

4. For government is hooked now, too. They crave the tax money.
“Addiction means more cash for us. Don’t let us hear you whine.” (refrain)
